First of all, I would like to say that your website has gotten me completely hooked! I have lived in NJ all my life but have only dared to venture to a few of our quirky hidden places. I have two of my own stories I would like to share with you.
In a little town in Delaware, just across the PA border, there is a devil worshipping church inside an old mansion. My boyfriend took me there about 2 years ago, and I will never go back.
Driving down the road toward the mansion, we noticed that all the tree tops leaned away from the center of the road, instead of creating a canopy like every other place. When we got out to look closer, we saw that there were no branches on the roadside of the trees at all, nor were there any marks as if theyd been cut or broken off.
As we continued to get closer to the mansion, there were more and more devil signs on the trees and road, probably done with spray paint. But the worst part was when we stopped after passing a huge boulder on the side of the road. On the other side of it, there was a pile of dead animals; mostly raccoons, that were slit from throat to genitals and completely gutted. It was like there was just a frame of the animal left.
When we finally approached the mansion, I was even more disgusted. Hanging from the black iron gate outside, were more carcasses of the dead animals like the ones wed just seen. Its also said that if you go at night, you can hear the Satanic worshipping that goes on inside, word for word. Fortunately, or not, we were there during the day.

I came across the story on WeirdUS.com regarding the Satanic Worship site in Delaware, and Ive been there as well. A friend of mine showed me the place, which he referred to as "The Devil's House. I'm not certain of the location, I think it's outside of Greenville somewhere. I have heard plenty of stories about the place from friends which I wish I had been there to see. "The house sometimes has a green glow at night," theyve said. Another legend that Ive heard is that if you go into the church and pick up the bible up front and try to walk out with it, it will feel too heavy to carry as you approach the front doors. Both of these stories stand out in my mind.
My own experience was this: The only lights when I was driven out there were the headlights of the car we drove. The first thing pointed out to me was a small house of sorts just off the roadside. It had no windows, but must have had 15 doors. The trees along the road I remember being oddly bent away from where I was told the house was, and the limbs appeared more drastically bent the closer we got. Several trees along the road, and spots on the road itself are spray painted with what would seem to be Satanic signs. I wouldn't know.
We stopped at the entrance which would have led to the house or church, but I could see neither that night. My friend pointed out to me a tree growing at the roadside behind us. Half of its roots were exposed by erosion, and when he put the car in reverse, the lights created quite a display in the shadows of the roots. Viewed from our perspective, the roots took the form of a 5 foot high skull. I had more of a sense of awe than fear looking at it.
At that point we noticed headlights behind us on the road, and knowing the stories of people being chased out, we figured it was our time to leave. We got up to 65 on this small stretch of backroad, and those headlights never seemed to distance from us. We finally went around sort of an S-curve in the road before making a left, where the lights went out of my line of sight. I kept my eyes fixed behind us waiting for some car to emerge from that road behind us.... but one never did.
I've had the urge to go back in daylight when everything is actually visible, and the entire scene isn't a play of shadows, but the friend who brought us there is gone, and no one knows exactly where we went that night. I was interested in any other stories people might have shared about the place, or if anyone could give me a location so I could return and do some more "research.
I was also told a story of a place they call the Lions Den in PA.. Supposedly on this road you may notice red jeeps passing by you in the opposite direction. If you ever see a fourth jeep, consider yourself "in the Lions Den" with these four jeeps boxing you in. Its another one I'm not too familiar with. Anyway, I really enjoy the site, and look forward to more interesting reading.
